خلاصه داستان : «مایا» در شش‌سالگی همراه بخش زیادی از خانواده‌اش از یوگسلاوی به دانمارک مهاجرت می‌کند. او در کشور جدید باید با زبان و فرهنگ تازه سازگار شود و زندگی متفاوتی برای خود بسازد؛ اما خاطرات سرزمین مادری و فداکاری‌های خانواده‌اش همیشه همراه اوست.

In the hope of creating a better life, 6-year-old Maja and her parents leave Yugoslavia for Denmark, leaving behind Maja’s two older brothers with the promise they will join once the family is settled. But the new country proves difficult and unfamiliar, and the family struggles to adapt to a new language, culture, and way of life. As the years pass, Maja grows up and becomes a successful artist in Denmark, yet beneath her achievements, she carries a divide of joy, sorrow, and gratitude—torn between the life she has built and the painful sacrifices her parents made for their future.

Story of two sisters that grew up in a small Serbian village in the beginning of the 1930s. The village is torn up by wars and years long blood oath. There are no men left in the village. Our heroines, Ognjenka and Mala Boginja decide to go to the city, kidnap men and return life to their village. The lights of the metropolis dazzle them and there starts this little amusing and sentimental adventure.
