خلاصه داستان : این فیلم به قحطی ساختگی سال‌های ۱۹۳۲ تا ۱۹۳۳ در اوکراین از نگاه یک خانواده می‌پردازد. قحطی‌ای که میلیون‌ها نفر را به کام مرگ کشاند، نتیجهٔ سیاست اتحاد جماهیر شوروی بود که برای مجازات اوکراینی‌ها به‌خاطر مخالفتشان با اشتراکی‌سازی مزارعشان اجرا شد.

The film about the Holodomor famine in Ukraine, based on the novel 'The Yellow Prince' by Vasyl Barka. The film is told through the lives of the Katrannyk family of six. It relies more on images than on words shot in black-and-white.

After her death, each birthday, her large family gathers at the table, to preserve the tradition of serving baked potatoes, which was a favorite dish of the household head.
