خلاصه داستان : برای خوشحال کردن سسیل، تام قبول می‌کند که سگ نژاد شی‌هواهوای همسایه مرده‌اش را به سرپرستی بگیرد. در این میان، گرتا، بازیگری که ماشینش خراب شده، غمگین است زیرا سگ و دستیارش در تصادف با اتوبوس کشته شده‌اند. از سوی دیگر، فرانک و لولا در نگاه اول عاشق یکدیگر می‌شوند.
