خلاصه داستان : آقای «ک» پس از گذراندن شبی در هتلی دورافتاده، صبح روز بعد با کابوسی واقعی روبه‌رو می‌شود؛ کابوسی خفه‌کننده و بی‌انتها. هرچه تلاش می‌کند، نمی‌تواند از ساختمان خارج شود. انگار در تله‌ای نامرئی گیر افتاده، جایی که درها بسته‌اند و راه‌ها ناپدید شده‌اند.

Mr. K, a traveling magician, finds himself in a Kafkaesque nightmare when he can’t find the exit of the hotel, he has slept in. His attempts to get out only pull him deeper, entangling him further with the hotel and its curious inhabitants.

The young Katelijne grows up in a strict Protestant peasant family. As the only girl between six brothers, she is hardly involved in farm work and is excluded from daily conversations. Hereby she lets her imagination run free by surrendering to Biblical stories, gossip and even fairy tales, although she is not allowed to read them. During her brother's wedding, however, she overwhelms her family with literature, saying goodbye to her childhood.
